In the second match of Sunday’s double-header IPL 2024 clash, Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals (DC) are taking on reigning champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. While the hosts won the toss and invited the visitors to field first.
Wi th David Warner and Prithvi Shaw giving a strong start to the hosts, stitching a 93-run partnership off 9.3 overs, it was a brilliant and combined effort from Mustafizur Rahman and Matheesha Pathirana that gave CSK their first wicket. With Ruturaj Gaikwad reintroducing the Bangladesh pacer into the attack, Warner, who looked in good touch, having completed his half-century, went for a reverse lap.
A slower and full from Mustafizur on the third delivery, Warner attempted to hit decently but Pathirana, who was stationed at the short third, flew in air to complete a bizarre catch, leaving everyo ne in awe. Further elaborating on the catch, Pathirana dived to his right to complete the catch behind his body, just plucking the ball with his fingertips.

While David Warner was left disappointed after giving away his wicket, former CSK skipper and great of the game, MS Dhoni walked up to Pathirana to laud the Sri Lanka pacer.
Speaking about the match, Warner’s stay in the middle was cut short with the Aussie opener adding 52 runs off 35 balls. Moreover, after 10 over, the DC scorecard read 95/1 with Prithvi Shaw (36) and Rishabh Pant (1) in the middle.
