Pakistan fast bowler Hasan Ali turned the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) Stadium into a dance floor during the Boxing Day Test against Australia. The Pakistan speedster, known for his fun antics on the field, got a section of the crowd to dance behind him. The incident took place during the 53rd over of Australia’s second innings when Ali was fielding near the boundary.
The over was being bowled by Aamer Jamal, and Ali, standing at the boundary, infused some fun. Ali suddenly started doing some moves, and the crowd joined him and imitated him enthusiastically. Cricket Australia shared the video on social media, and it went viral in no time, garnering reactions from cricket lovers across the globe. Steven Smith, who was batting for Australia, chuckled seeing this. Coming back to cricket, Pakistan lost the first Test and found it difficult to make a comeback in the second.
Hasan Ali gives autograph on fan’s forehead
The speedster was the centre of attraction during the match for multiple reasons. Ali was earlier spotted grooving with the MCG crowd and was later seen signing an autograph on his fan’s forehead. The 29-year-old was also seen scattering away the pigeons, who made their way onto the ground earlier during the Test. Talking about Ali’s performance in the ongoing Test, scalped two wickets in the first innings but failed to pick any during the second innings. He had got he got Usman Khawaja and Nathan Lyon out within 24 overs.
After the first Test, Ali addressed the criticism from Pakistani critics about the lack of pace from Pakistan bowlers during the three-match Test series. He said, “I don’t know whose pace has dropped as my focus has never been just on pace. I’ve never bowled at 150kph. I think it’s better to stick to the area around the top of off-stump. I haven’t heard these rumours about pace dropping and we don’t care about them. Our focus is on the game & that’s where it should be.”
