In the videos making rounds on social media, the DC captain can be seen with wet eyes soon after the loss. Not only Lanning, but her teammate and South Africa all-rounder Marizanne Kapp was also left visibly upset on the team’s defeat.

Speaking after the match at the post-match presentation, Lanning said, “We have had another good season, and unfortunately, we couldn’t get over the line. Congrats to Mumbai – you have been excellent throughout the season. Chasing 150 was a pretty good target for us; one more partnership could have been enough, but I’m proud of the team."
“There’s no right or wrong way to do it. Performing on the night is important, and Mumbai were too good tonight. We haven’t been able to put our best performance in the final on the board, which is disappointing, but that’s cricket," the Delhi Capitals skipper added.
