Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz suffered a finger injury in the third ODI between Pakistan and New Zealand. He was taken to the hospital following the injury during the ongoing match. Nawaz was hit by Daryl Mitchell on the first ball of the 21st over. The Pakistan player went down the ground after he got hit by the ball as he tried to stop it. He was then sent off-ground and was taken to the hospital for an X-Ray.
In the clip that has gone viral on the social media, Nawaz could be seen in extreme pain as the ball off New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell hit him while he was trying to stop it. Though he was given immediate treatment, the player was taken off the ground after the completion of the over. Sharing an update on the injured player, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said that the player was taken for proper medical treatment and has undergone an X-Ray. However, the final update on the player’s injury is yet to be shared.

The Pakistan team is down by another player as the Pak batter Haris Sohail had suffered an injury before the onset of the series. He was later replaced by Iftikhar Ahmed. Speaking of the game, batting first the Pakistan team scored 287-6 in 50 overs. From Pakistan’s side, Imam-ul-Haq scored 90 runs, whereas Babar Azam played an inning of 54 runs.
New Zealand were 182-5 in 39 overs, when Azam suffered the injury. Pakistan’s collective bowling effort helped them successfully defend the target and beat their rivals by 26 runs. They are now leading the series 3-0.
