Team India pacer Mohammed Siraj has been in strained relationship with the Australian cricket fans following his heated on-field banter with Travis Head in the Adelaide Test last week. Although, the feud has been resolved among the two cricketers, the International Cricket Council (ICC) also took stringent actions, penalising Siraj with 20 per cent of his match fee along with the demerit point, Head also was handed a demerit point for using harsh words.
However, the saga might have ended among the two, the Aussie fans are still not contended with it as they were seen booing Siraj on Day 1 of the third Test, underway at The Gabba in Brisbane. At the start of the play at The Gabba in Brisbane after Team India opted to bowl first, Siraj received harsh reactions from the crowd.

As the visitors took the field on Day 1 of the third Test, Siraj was welcomed by boos as soon as he came in to bowl his first over. As Siraj took the ball, the Gabba crowd erupted in boos, intensifying the already charged atmosphere of the crucial five-match Test series. The story dates back to Saturday, December 7 when Siraj dismissed Adelaide Test centurion Travis Head. Soon after dismissing Head, Siraj brought up animated celebration, followed by heated exchange between the two, forcing the on-field umpiures to step in. Both the cricketers had their respective takes on the story, but Siraj afterwards received massive boo.
On Saturday, December 14, the boos at The Gabba mirrored those in Adelaide, further underlining Siraj’s polarising presence in Australia. Speaking of the third Test, Rohit Sharma-led Team India won the toss and invited the hosts to put the score first on the board. However the proceedings started at The Gabba, rain forced play to stop after 13.2 overs with the Aussie scoreboard reading 28/0 with Nathan McSweeney (4 off 33) and Usman Khawaja (19 off 47) in the middle.
