Gujarat Titans pacer Mohit Sharma was spotted removing his cap while shaking MS Dhoni’s hand during CSK vs GT in IPL 2024. The 17th edition of the Indian Premier League kicked off on March 22, with CSK clashing against RCB in the opening clash. In their second match of the season, the reigning champions locked horns with previous winners at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. While the hosts registered a 63-run win over their counterparts, a heartwarming gesture by GT’s Mohit Sharma has gone viral on social media.

In a video doing rounds on social media, Sharma was seen removing his cap before meeting MS Dhoni as a mark of respect. The incident took place after Chennai defeated Gujarat to win their second game of the season.

After the game, when players from both teams were shaking hands, Sharma took off his cap, shook hands with the CSK captain, and went on to hug him. Needless to say, the video went viral on social media quickly and fans appreciated Sharma for his gesture.

Notably, a similar incident from CSK’s match against RCB went viral where CSK youngster Sameer Rizvi extended a gracious gesture towards the former RCB captain. After the match, when teams were exchanging greetings, Rizvi respectfully removed his cap before he approached Kohli and shook hands with him. The youngster’s gesture went viral on social media and was highly appreciated by the cricketing icon’s fans. 

Coming back to Sharma, the GT bowler was earlier a part of the Chennai-based franchise for some years under the captaincy of MS Dhoni. In the 2024 season, his side Gujarat Titans will now clash against SunRisers Hyderabad on March 31, whereas the five-time IPL winners are set to clash against Delhi Capitals on the same day.
