Chelsea star Moises Caicedo scored a brilliant goal from the halfway line to open his side’s account against Bournemouth. On May 19, Sunday, The Blues clashed against Bournemouth on the final day of the Premier League season. The Ecuadorian footballer arrived in the team with a transfer fee of around $145.6 million last summer. However, he failed to leave an immediate impact and replicate his performance at Brighton.
However, during the 17th minute of the game against Bournemouth, the 22-year-old produced an unbelievable goal, seemingly showcasing why he became the most expensive signing in Premier League history. In the game, Bournemouth goalkeeper Neto rushed out of his box to deny the onrushing Raheem Sterling. During the same time, Caicedo found his clearance and fired the ball 50 yards near the halfway line into an empty net, opening the side’s account in the game.

The goal marked Caicedo’s first goal since he joined from Brighton last summer. Needless to say, Caicedo endured strong criticism after joining The Blues and having failed to make an immediate impact. However, the youngster proved to be integral in recent months, by playing for the full 90 minutes in 17 of his last 20 appearances for the side.
Not only this, but he has also been consistent and displayed reliability during the season where several key players of the side were affected by injuries.
