Cricket is often followed and preached like a religion in the Indian subcontinent and having said that, several Indian cricketers are worshiped and considered no less than gods. Among many such including the likes of Sachin Tendulkar is former India captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni. While the former India captain might have called in curtains to his international cricketer, the ‘Captain Cool’ continues to ply his trade for the Chennai Super Kings.

The stalwart of the game, who amasses fan following of millions and probably billions from across, in a recent show shared an update on his future in the IPL with the Yellow Army. During an event in Bengaluru on October 26, Thursday, the 42-year-old confirmed that the medical professionals, including his doctor has assured him to get fully fit by next month, while talking about his recent knee surgery he undertook, post CSK’s win in IPL 2023.
“Knee has survived the operation, going through the rehab patch. The doctor told me you would feel much better by November. But no problem in day-to-day routine,” Dhoni said.
However, what was more pleasing was his assurance to play the 2024 edition of the Indian Premier League. While being asked on his retirement, before the host panelist could complete the statement, the other took a moment to point out that the legend is only retired from international cricket. The crowd just went on to cheer as Dhoni himself pointed out, calling someone from the crowd, “CSK fan”.

In the further part of the discussion, the 42-year-old continuously stressed that in his cricketing career he has always thought of leaving a legacy rather than being recognised as an accomplished cricketer.
“You know, from the start, I was not into that people should remember me a good cricketer. I always said, you know, I want to be remembered a good human being. And if you want to be a good human being, it’ a process till you die,” Dhoni added.
