Chennai Super Kings' youngster Sameer Rizvi announced himself on the world stage by smashing Guja rat Titans' great Rashid Khan for a massive six on the first ball of his IPL career. After losing the toss, the Super Kings were asked to bat first and the Yellow Army obliged taking on GT's new-ball bowlers.
Rachin Ravindra smashed 46 in 20 balls and then the in-form Shivam Dube took charge. The Mumbai batter took on the spinners while CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad held one end as he consistently found boundaries. As the game neared the end of the first innings, Dube got out as he tried hitting Rashid Khan in the 19th over when the young Rizvi came out to bat.

It was about showing some intent: Rachin Ravindra
Coming back to Rachin Ravindra, the prolific New Zealander talked about his 46-run knock in the mid-innings after CSK posted a total of 206-6 . The 24-year-old spoke about how the surface and the outfield allowed him to get maximum value for his shots. Ravindra said, "It was a pretty good wicket to bat on. The new ball was coming on nicely. It was about showing some intent, good to bat with Ruturaj."
"The outfields in India are pretty quick, you get pretty good value for your shots. As a player, you want to take down the powerplay. It (total) is slightly over par, but still, it's a very good wicket. There's slight dew on the outfield. (Will bowl a few overs) hopefully," he continued.
