The 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has so far seen some brilliant fielding efforts from the players - be it young Ravi Bishnoi, veteran Faf du Plessis, classy Ravindra Jadeja or experienced MS Dhoni. However, Dhoni once again showed his amazing fielding skill behind the stump against Mumbai Indians at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on May 1.
It happened during the 9th over of the game when Ravindra Jadeja came in to bowl his first over. He started quite well as he gave away three runs in the first three deliveries. However, the fourth delivery saw the dismissal of in-form Suryakumar Yadav.
Jadeja bowled at 98.6 kmph, which got a bit of away-turn and Suryakumar Yadav tried to hit it through the covers with a crossed bat but ended up playing outside the line and got an inside edge too. MS Dhoni made no mistake behind the stumps and grabbed it.

With this, Mumbai lost their second wicket in two overs. Also the captain Rohit Sharma was the first one to fall for a well-made 35 off 24. Notably, Mumbai Indians got off to a flying start with in-form Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock adding 58 runs inside the powerplay.
Earlier in the day, Mumbai Indians won the toss and opted to field first. They made two changes in their squad. While James Neesham came in place of Jayant Yadav, Dhawal Kulkarni replaced Nathan Coulter-Nile. On the other hand, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) took the field with an unchanged XI.
Put in to bat first, CSK got a big blow as their in-form opener Ruturaj Gaikwad fell for a mere 4. However, Moeen Ali took the charge alongside Faf du Plessis and both steadied the ship quite well by posting 49 runs in the powerplay. Ali smashed a blistering 58 off 36 with five fours and as many sixes. Even du Plessis too scored a fifty off 28 balls with two boundaries and four sixes before Ambati Rayudu's onslaught helped Chennai put up a massive total of 218 for 4 in their allotted 20 overs.
Rayudu smacked a 27-ball 72 with the help of four boundaries and seven sixes and gave a big total to Mumbai Indians to chase down in 20 overs.
