Indian fast bowler Mukesh Kumar gave the Delhi Capitals a perfect start against the Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. After winning the first game resoundingly, the Royals were automatic favourites against Delhi, who had an underwhelming opening performance against the Punjab Kings.
But in that defeat, the Capitals showed some resistance towards the end thanks to their bowling attack, who took the game to the final over. Continuing this momentum in the second game, Mukesh Kumar started his spell with a single and then conceded a boundary against Yashasvi Jaiswal towards the off-side.
The West Bengal speedster soon got his revenge as he bowled a dot ball after the four and cleaned up Jaiswal with a beauty. Kumar sent out a delivery which moved in towards the young Mumbai opener and was enough to disturb the stumps.
Feels good to play 100 matches: Rishabh Pant
Ahead of the game against RR, the Capitals had a special ceremony celebrating his 100th IPL game for Delhi. Speaking at the toss, Rishabh Pant expressed excitement about playing his 100th match for the Delhi Capitals. " The wicket looks fine and we want to use it, there might be some dew in the 2nd innings."
"Feels good to play 100 matches for the same franchise, but every game is important for me. Most of the concerns are regarding injury, but these are things you can't control. Two changes for us - Ishant hasn't recovered, Shai Hope has a back spasm. Anrich Nortje and Mukesh Kumar come in."
