Indian all-rounder Musher Khan had an astonishing reaction as off-spinner Murugan Abhishek pulled off a stunning catch to dismiss South Africa's Lhuan-dre Pretorius in the first semifinal of the U19 World Cup 2024. Playing at the Willowmoore Park in Benoni, the Boys in Blue started with the ball as the 2022 champions looked to defend their title.

After two early wickets, Lhuan-dre Pretorius and Richard Seletswane built a crucial partnership to carry the hosts out of trouble. The duo posted a 72-run stand when Pretorius attempted to slog Musher Khan over mid-wicket. But unfortunately for the Proteas' opener, Murugan Abhishek held onto a magical catch.
As Pretorius whipped the ball with all his might, Abhishek threw up his hand and completed a zooming catch. Reacting to this incredible effort, Musher Khan was in utter amazement before running towards Murugan Abhishek to celebrate the wicket.

After this wicket, South Africa continued scoring runs at a decent rate, with Seletswane stitching crucial partnerships with Oliver Whitehead and Juan James. Though Richard Seletswane departed after a well-made 64 in 100 balls, Tristan Luus and his explosive 12-ball 23 cameo with one four and two sixes carried South Africa to a 244-run total.

Talking about the bowling, Raj Limbani was the pick of the Indian attack with figures of 3-60 in nine overs, while Musheer Khan ended with a two-wicket haul. Whereas Naman Tiwari and Saumy Pandey also picked up one wicket each.
