The El Classico of IPL returned as the five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) locked horns with reigning champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Wankhede Stadium in Chennai. The match saw its moments unfold with MS Dhoni smashing MI skipper Hardik Pandya for three consecutive sixes off the final over, Rohit Sharma also returned to his brilliant form with his unbeaten ton.

Amid their defence, Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman was involved in a brilliant attempt to dismiss World No. 1 T20I batter Suryakumar Yadav out on a duck. The incident unfolded on the third delivery of the eighth over when SKY tried to play an upper cut but hit it flat off Pathirana’s short of the length delivery. As soon as he mistimed the shot, Mustafizur Rahman, who was stationed towards the third-man fielder, produced a brilliant piece of fielding.

The Bangladesh pacer moved to his left and reverse cupped the catch after earlier completing it inside the rope. With some imbalance, he threw the ball in the air and jumped again to complete a juggling catch to send the Mumbai batter back to the pavilion on a silver duck.

After eight overs, the MI scorecard read 75/2 with Tilak Varma (5) and Rohit Sharma (47) in the middle. Moreover, the former MI skipper reached his IPL 2024 fifty in the very next over, which was bowled by Ravindra Jadeja.
