In the match 16th of the Women’s Hundred Nat Sciver-Brunt, the captain of Trent Rockets smashed 26 runs off four consecutive balls against Grace Scrivens and Danielle Gibson of London Spir it, to finish off the contest in style at the Lord’s in London. The 30-year-old took the opposition bowlers to the cleaners with a swashbuckling inning of 81 off 41, staying undefeated at the end to help the Rockets beat the Spirit with a five-wicket margin on August 12, Saturday.

Notably, after winning the toss earlier in the day, Nat Sciver-Brunt decided to field first at the Home of Cricket. Her decision was backed up by the Trent Rockets bowlers, who delivered a steady team performance with the ball to help restrict London Spirit to a below-par total of 124 for the loss of just four wickets.

The pick of the bowlers for the Rockets in their innings was Kirstie Gordon, who bowled a brilliant spell of 20 deliveries for just 19 runs while picking up the key wickets of Grace Harris and Danielle Gibson at the top of the order. She was ably supported by the overseas recruit Alana King and Bryony Smith, taking a wicket each.

In the run chase, Trent Rockets had a tough start, losing three of the top four batters inside 29 runs. But then, Nat Sciver-Brunt took control of the innings, dictating the pace of the game along with Fran Wilson, stitching together a much-needed partnership of 51 runs along the way.

With two quick wickets, London Spirit was back in the game somewhat, but the 30-year-old had other ideas. Along with Joanne Gardner, the Trent Rockets captain compiled a match-winning partnership of 55 runs in just 17 balls, which included four consecutive sixes from her to finish off the match.
