Nep al locked horns with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the first semifinal of the ACC Men’s T20I Premier Cup 2024 at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground Oman Cricket (Ministry Turf 1) in Oman on Friday, April 19. After Nepal putting up 120 runs target on the board, it was the UAE batters who took the guards in the middle.
In the pursuit of the 120-run target, UAE were off to a brisk start but things changed with Nepal’s Kushal Bhurtel taking a stunning acrobatic catch. In the eighth over of the UAE inning, Gulshan Jha bowled in tight lines, but despite that he conceded seven runs. On the final delivery of the over, an acrobatic catch from Bhurtel got Nepal a wicket of well-settled Sukumaran.
The Nepal cricketer watched the ball closely and ran back to cover the distance. In order to complete a brilliant catch, Bhurtel flew in air and got hold of the ball before landing on the ground, hand and face first.
