Brazil have made it to the last 16 having topped their group. The five-time champions have been pitted against South Korea for their Round of 16 clash. It is expected to be a tough game for Brazil with two of their players- Gabriel Jesus and Alex Telles ruled out of the tournament. However, it seems that Brazil have received a shot in the arm as their captain Neymar Jr is back to full fitness.
Neymar, who was ruled out of action and did not take in the last two group-stage games, against Switzerland and Cameroon was spotted training with the team ahead of their match against South Korea.
In a video posted by the Brazil national football team’s Twitter account, the 30-year-old can be seen taking part in the training session and looking fully recovered from the injury that he suffered last week.
Apart from the video that was posted by the team’s Twitter handle, Neymar also took to Twitter to post two pictures of himself from the training session and captioned them, "I feel good, I knew that I would now".
This comes as a massive boost for the five-time winners as Neymar was doubtful for the entire tournament after suffering an ankle injury in the last ten minutes of Brazil vs Serbia.
Now, with Neymar back, Brazil will start as the outmost favourites against South Korea in their Round of 16 match. However, the Asian team cannot be taken lightly as they have produced a fair number of upsets.
South Korea defeated Portugal 2-1 in their last group stage game to advance to the knockout stage. They pipped Uruguay on goal difference to qualify with Portugal from Group H.
