Al Hilal forward Neymar Jr suffered a hamstring injury during the AFC Champions League fixture against Esteghlal FC at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh on November 4. Al Hilal defeated Esteghlal by 3-0 with Aleksandar Mitrovic scoring all three goals. However, it didn’t turn out to be a memorable outing for Neymar due to his injury. In a viral video, Neymar was seen throwing his shin pads and water bottle in disappointment after getting subbed off from the match due to injury.
Neymar was making a comeback on the football field after a long gap due to a torn ACL. He entered the game in the 58th minute but was forced to leave the field within a few minutes after suffering a hamstring injury while reaching for the ball. Neymar wasn’t happy after getting subbed from the match and showed his frustration by throwing shin pads and water bottle. However, it didn’t affect the result as Al Hilal won the game by 3-0.
Normal for this to happen after a year: Neymar Jr
This was Neymar Jr’s second game after returning from a knee injury. However, he had to leave the field within a few minutes after injuring his knee again in a fixture against Esteghlal. However, the Brazilian midfielder still have got some time to recover from the injury ahead of Al Hilal’s next AFC Champions League fixture against Al Sadd on November 26. Reacting to his injury, Neymar also mentioned that doctors have warned him to be careful and also hoped that it is not a serious injury.
“It felt like a cramp, only very strong. I’m going to have some tests and I hope it’s nothing too serious. It’s normal for this to happen after a year, the doctors had already warned me, so I have to be careful and play more minutes,” Neymar quoted as saying by Sports Star.
