Nike finally unveiled Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker's signature sneaker Book 1 in the mirage colourway. The new colourway was showcased ahead of the Suns-Milwaukee Bucks game at the Footprint Center where Booker outscored his teammates, dropping 32 points, in a 114-16 Phoenix win. The Kentucky guard shot  12-21 from the field while two out of six threes and hitting  6-10 from the free-throw line.

Further, the ad also had nods to the iconic Lil’ Penny Hardaway and shoe design legend Wilson Smith. The commercial starts with a group listening to “Book, Chapter 1,” featuring Taurasi and Marion. Then Booker, with a book in his hands, says,  “Book 1. One and not done. Welcome to the World of Book.”

This initial colourway dubbed the “Mirage” speaks to the desert-like land and climates of Phoenix with  grey and cream shades all over the sneaker. The  Book 1 “Mirage”  will be available on SNKRS and select Nike Basketball retailers beginning on February 17, the all-star weekend, with an MSRP of $140.

Future classic: Devin Booker's idea behind  Book 1s

Talking about the design philosophy behind the Book 1, the Phoenix Suns guard developed into how he and the team attempted to merge "lifestyle and performance worlds," as per Nike.  "Early on, we landed on the phrase 'future classic'," Booker said. "At the beginning of the design process, we landed on the idea of the shoe combining lifestyle and performance worlds. The goal was to create something that would be timeless."
