Hobart Hurricanes player Nikhil Chaudhary hit a massive 80-metre six in the Big Bash League clash against Sydney Sixers. In the 18th clash of the 27-match league, Hurricanes, led by Ben McDermott were up against Moises Henriques won the toss and decided to bowl first. Batting first, Hurricanes’ all-rounder Chaudhary hit a giant maximum, which proved to be the highlight of the match. Chaudhary hit 42 runs off 31 balls, including four boundaries and two maximums to power his side to a competitive total of 161 with the loss of six wickets.
Hurricanes got off to a good start with the bat with Mitchell Owen leading the batting charge. Matthew Wade supported him well, and together, they put on a solid partnership of 45 runs. However, the partnership was soon broken by Hayden Kerr as he dismissed Owen. The side then had some quick dismissals, but Chaudhary and skipper Ben McDermott held their nerves and they both guided the side to a strong total.

In the 12th over of the Hurricanes’ innings, Nikhil Chaudhary came up with a massive six. Ben Dwarshuis bowled a 134.5 kmph delivery, and Chaudhary hit it over the forward square leg fence for an 80-metre six. Chaudhary, along with McDermott started off cautiously, but then took advantage of the Power Surge and scored 33 runs during that period. They came up with a 70-run stand in just over eight overs.
However, things didn’t last long as the two batters fell quickly in succession and the Sixers overpowered them as they posted 161 for 6 in 20 overs. However, in return, Sixers failed to chase the total and lost the game by a huge margin of 50 runs.
