Delhi-born Indian-origin cricketer Nikhil Chaudhary struck a ‘Kabaddi Pose’ with former Australian cricketer Brett Lee in Big Bash League 2023-24. Chaudhary played for India in the U-19 team and Punjab and moved to Australia in 2019 to pursue his cricket career. In the 13th edition of the Big Bash League, Chaudhary got the biggest break of his career when he signed a contract with the Hobart Hurricanes. The Indian-origin player has taken the BBL storm with not just his batting and bowling but also with the style that comes with his Punjabi roots.

In five matches that Chaudhary has played for his side, he scored 72 runs and picked three wickets. In their last clash against the Melbourne Renegades, Chaudhary once again got into the news as he dismissed South African star Quinton de Kock and contributed to his side’s victory. After the match, Chaudhary shared a special moment with his idol Brett Lee. The 27-year-old ran towards the commentator after the match and interacted with him.

Not only this, but Chaudhary also taught Lee his signature ‘kabaddi celebration’ as the two struck a pose.

Lee interacts with Chaudhary in Hindi during the match

However, this wasn’t the only special moment that the all-rounder shared with the former Aussie cricketer. Earlier during the match, they both were spotted interacting in Hindi, after which the Hurricane player complimented the cricketer-turned-commentator for his Hindi skills.

Here’s how the conversation went:

Lee: Hi Nikhil, Brett Lee here! Aap kaise ho?

Nikhil: Main thik hoon

Lee: My Hindi thoda thoda, aapse milke khushi hui (I know only a bit of Hindi but it's nice to meet you.)

Nikhil: Dhanyawad (Thank You). Your Hindi is too good mate.

Lee: Na, I'm still trying mate!

Hurricanes will now lock horns with Brisbane Heat in another exciting BBL clash on January 7.
