Video of a bizarre incident has surfaced where West Indian all-rounder Odean Smith was seen kicking the ball away which cost the  team two runs. The video is from the last group stage match against the Barbados Royals where Smith had a forgettable performance.

He conceded 42 runs in his four-over spell and became one of the biggest reasons behind Barbados scoring 125 in their first innings in a low-scoring affair. But adding insult to injury, Odean Smith had a moment sprouting out of frustration which summed up his performance at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.

In the 16th over, the 25-year-old right-arm pacer conceded one six and a four and also bowled three wide deliveries. Then for the last delivery, he bowled a straight good length delivery which Ramon Simmonds defended and played towards Odean.

But instead of picking it up, Smith tried to kick the ball towards the wicketkeeper, but this decision also didn’t pan out well as the ball went towards the covers, allowing Royals' batters to complete two runs and make the over total 18 runs.

Since then, both Odean Smith and the Guyana Amazon Warriors have had bad fortunes as they crashed out of the playoffs despite finishing second. They lost in the first qualifier against Barbados followed by another horrific defeat against the Jamaican Tallawahs. In both these games, Odean Smith had forgettable performances as he conceded a staggering 104 runs in his seven overs while picking up only one wicket.
