Pakistan enters the T20 World Cup 2022 final after a roller coaster ride. While the team lost back-to-back games against India and Zimbabwe in the Super 12 stage, they did not look back there onwards. They now enter the finale on a back of four-match winning streak.

A day prior to the T20 World Cup 2022 final, the Pakistan skipper Babar Azam addressed the press conference. However, while the questions were being asked and answered, there was a sudden change in atmosphere when a journalist asked him about the Indian Premier League.

A media personnel asked Azam whether playing in the IPL if given a chance will help Babar and his team. While the Pakistan skipper looked uncomfortable by being asked this question, the Pakistan media manager was quick to intervene and respond. “I think we are taking question on T20 World Cup Final and not commenting on the IPL right now”, he answered.

Pakistan is all set to repeat history like that in 1992. Notably, Wasim Akram-led Pakistan lifted the 50-World Cup in 1992 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The Babar Azam-led team is also eyeing to end their T20 World Cup trophy drought as they eye a win over England in the final on November 13, 2022.
