Following a shocking T20 World Cup 2024 campaign for the national team earlier this month, Abdul Qadir Patel, the Pakistan Parliament member, mocked captain Babar Azam for his side’s early exit from the tournament. The 55-year-old lamented Pakistan’s loss against the USA and India before hilariously suggesting Babar Azam throw a party, to claim that a conspiracy is going on against him for shifting the blame for the national team’s recent T20 World Cup defeats.

Notably, in Group A of the T20 World Cup 2024, Pakistan started with a loss against the United States of America in the super over before going down against India by five runs. With these two defeats, the Babar Azam-led team bowed out of the tournament before making the Super 8 stage.

A video has gone viral on the social media platform X, where Abdul Qadir Patel, a member of the Pakistan Parliament, spoke about the recent T20 World Cup 2024 campaign of the national team during an assembly session. He remarked, “Sir, ye (Pakistan) cricket team ko kya hua hai? Ye America se bhi haar gaye. Ye India se bhi haar gaye. (Sir, what has happened to the Pakistan cricket team? They lost to the USA as well. They lost to India as well).”

“Toh Babar Azam ko apne hi kisi senior cricketer se sabak lete hue haarne ke baad ek jalsa rakhe aur kaghaz lehra kar bole mere khilaf sazish hui hai (That’s why Babar Azam should learn from a senior cricketer after losing, to host an event where he should show papers and tell everyone about a conspiracy going on against him),” he advised Babar Azam to do.

Moreover, there have been a lot of rumours swirling around Pakistan cricket in the aftermath of a disappointing T20 World Cup 2024 campaign. The sources have reported that the PCB is likely to demote certain players in the central contracts list and cut down their salaries.
