The Pakistan team at the T20 World Cup in Australia had to make an important injury replacement as batter Fakhar Zaman suffered a knee injury. Zaman was replaced by Asif Ali who still hasn’t found his feet in Pakistan’s World Cup set-up. A video of his net session before the South Africa game has been making rounds on the internet where the right-hander wasn’t happy with his performance.

In the clip, Asif Ali is seen batting in the nets where he doesn’t look in the best of form as he faced his fellow teammate. Ali first struggles to play a bouncer which is followed by a few more difficult deliveries. Later Ali, enraged by his poor batting display is seen throwing his bat. He later picks up the bat and gets back on his mark.

Going back to Fakhar Zaman, the batter has been dealing with an injury since before the World Cup as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) revealed last month that the batter had landed awkwardly on his right knee while fielding during the T20 Asia Cup final in Dubai against Sri Lanka. Reports say that  Zaman hasn’t yet fully recovered from that injury.

Addressing Zaman’s recent injury, Pakistan team doctor Najeebullah Soomro talked about how both the player and the team knew the injury risk before entering this tournament. He said, "Obviously with any knee injury, it takes time to have 100% recovery. Fakhar and the team understood the risks of coming into the tournament and we got him in. You saw how he performed with batting in the last match, unfortunately in the last match, he had a bit of a twist which aggravated his injury.”
