South Africa are taking on Australia in the second semifinal of the ODI World Cup 2023 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. While one of the finalists of the ODI World Cup 2023 have been confirmed with India beating New Zealand by 70 runs on the back of brilliant centuries from Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer, followed by a seven-fer from Mohammad Shami.

With a place up for grabs for the ultimate clash in the ODI World Cup 2023, the Temba Bavuma-led side opted to bat first. While the Proteas Men were gifted an early jolt as their skipper departed for duck, a brilliant catch from Aussie skipper at mid-on helped them get another breakthrough in Quinton de Kock.
On the fourth delivery of the sixth over, Josh Hazlewood bowled a length delivery with de Kock miscues it straight up in the air. Cummins ran backwards to complete the catch at deep mid-on, going down head first.

With Josh Hazlewood taking a crucial wicket of Quinton de Kock, the second highest run-scorer in ODI World Cup 2023, has now dismissed de Kock eight times in ODIs, which is most in the 50-over format.
Talking about the match, South Africa were reduced to 10/2 in eight overs with Rassie van der Dussen (4 off 25) and Aiden Markram (1 off 5) in the middle.
