Patna Pirates stormed into the PKL 8 final as it beat UP Yoddha 38-27. UP Yoddha was no match for Patna Pirates in this Playoff encounter. The Pirates are now through to the final and are on course for a record fourth PKL title.
After the first half, Patna Pirates took a 23-9 lead. From the very beginning of the match, Patna Pirates did not let the raiders and defenders of UP Yoddha run at all. For this reason, twice in the first half itself, Patna Pirates all-outed the UP Yoddha twice (10th and 17th minute). Pardeep Narwal of UP Yoddha got the first point in the 18th minute and got only two points in the first half. Pardeep Narwal was dismissed twice in the first half and was revived both times only after the team was all-out. Patna Pirates’ defense scored 9 tackle points in the first half and UP Yoddha made only two super tackles.
UP Yoddha finally got Patna Pirates all-out for the first time in the 38th minute of the match. However, it was too late and in the end Patna Pirates easily won the match. UP Yoddha’s team could not make it to the finals after reaching the play-offs once again.

Patna Pirates started the second half tremendously and soon Pardeep Narwal was dismissed. Because of this, he once again came close to all-out the UP Yoddha. Shrikant Jadhav avoided his all-out by dismissing Guman Singh via a super tackle. However, for the third time in the 29th minute of the match, Patna Pirates inflicted an all-out.UP Yoddha tried to make a comeback trying to close the gap. However, Shadlu completed his high 5 by dismissing Pardeep Narwal at the crucial moment.
Guman Singh did a great job for Patna Pirates scoring 8 raid points. Alongside Guman, Sachin also performed well and managed to bag 6 raid points and a tackle point as well. Sunil and Shadloui Chianeh managed the defence of the Patna Pirates by completing their high fives. For UP, it was only Shrikant Jadhav who got a super 10 to his name, other than that no one else was in great touch.
