Following a devastating loss for Roman Reigns in the WrestleMania 40 Sunday main event, Paul Heyman consoled the Tribal Chief on stage, giving him a big hug before they walked away together backstage. It was Cody Rhodes, who defeated Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, to finish his story in one of the greatest endings in WrestleMania history.
The main event of WrestleMania 40 Sunday had intense action, a lot of surprise returns, unfiltered emotions, and epic culmination to a storyline years in the making. Roman Reigns walked in as the favourite to retain his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, especially since it was scheduled to be contested under the Bloodline rules, but when the dust settled, Cody Rhodes managed to pin the champion.
It meant that the 1316-day stranglehold of Roman Reigns on the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship came to an end.
While the celebrations ensued for Cody Rhodes inside the ring, Roman Reigns was left to ponder on his first loss in a championship match in nearly four years. Shortly after, a dejected Tribal Chief walked away from ringside, approaching the top of the stage, where he got hugged by Paul Heyman, consoling him in the process.
