The Boxing Day Test of the five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 has been nothing short of an entertainer so far. After Virat Kohli was seen rubbing shoulders with Australian debutant Sam Konstas on Day 1 of the fourth Test, Day 2 also saw several events unfold. On Day 2 of the fourth Test, Friday, December 27, a pitch invader ran onto the field of play.
The moment took place with the Australian team adding to their overnight score of 311/6, early on Day 2. However, the incident caused an unexpected disruption in the Boxing Day Test, the invader was seen running towards Virat Kohli, who was stationed in slips.

Speaking in detail of the incident, it took place after the third delivery of the 97th over, which was being bowled by Indian spearhead Jasprit Bumrah. The invader rushed onto the field towards Virat Kohli, who was positioned at slip cordon and tried to put an arm around the senior Indian batter.

However, after a brief moment where he showed his dance moves, security personnel were quick to intervene and escort him off the field. Although, this might sound like an uncanny coincidence, the pitch invader notably appears to be the same individual (Wen Johnson) who earlier invaded the pitch while Virat was batting alongside KL Rahul during the ODI World Cup Final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad in 2023.
Speaking of the ongoing Boxing Day Test in Melbourne, Indian bundled out Australia at the score of 474 with Steve Smith scoring his 34th Test hundred. Aussie skipper Pat Cummins also played a crucial knock, missing the half-century mark by just one run as the duo stitched 112-run stand for the seventh wicket. At Tea on Day 2 of the fourth BGT Test, the Indian scorecard read 51/2 with Yashasvi Jaiswal (23 off 43) in the middle.
