The Dallas Mavericks - Detroit Pistons clash saw   Luka Doncic continue his stellar 2023-24 season with a 30-point triple-double. But the bigger highlight from this fixture involved Mavericks' big man PJ Washington and sophomore star Jalen Duren from Detroit. The duo got into a shoving match which led to a brawl and saw the referees eject the 20-year-old Duren.

A fiercely competitive battle which stirred Mavericks' way in the third quarter saw Doncic and Cade Cunighman go blow-for-blow as the two stars carried their respective teams. But with Dallas comfortably ahead in the fourth quarter, Jalen Duren hard-fouled centre Daniel Gafford, who went for a layup.

Post the foul, P.J. Washington stepped in and shoved Duren away from Gafford, who was on the floor. Immediately the Pitsons youngster responded with a much harder push and trigged all 10 players into a tussle. Soon the players were separated with Duren being ejected after getting a personal foul and two technicals while Washington also received a technical.

Doncic breaks  Westbrook's 5 straight 30-point triple-doubles record

Luka Doncic created NBA history as he became the first player to record six consecutive 30-point triple-doubles and helped the Mavs register a 142-124 win. The former Real Madrid star broke  Russell Westbrook's feat of five straight 30-point triple-doubles. Donic also extended his record with a fifth straight 35-point triple-double.

Mavericks coach Jason Kidd was in awe of  Luka Doncic and praised his star for his ability to impact the game across various metrics. Kidd said,  “That just shows what level he's playing on right now. He knows he can score the ball, and he's also able to find his teammates and lastly, he's able to rebound the ball.”
