India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi on Tuesday, July 30 congratulated Indian shooters Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh for winning the bronze medal in the 10m mixed team event at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The Indian PM then called the Indian men’s shooter Sarabjot Singh after his maiden Olympics win at the Chateauroux Shooting Centre.
While PM Modi dropped a tweet, acknowledging the Indian pair’s win, he also called Sarabjot Singh, hailing his effort. It is to be noted that while it was Singh’s maiden Olympic win, Manu Bhaker became the first Indian to win multiple medals at a single Olympic Games, having opened her account in women’s 10m air pistol. Moreover, she became only the fourth Indian after Norman Pritchard, Sushil Kumar and PV Sindhu to win multiple medals for India at the Summer Games.
Earlier after the duo’s win against the South Korean pair in the bronze medal match, PM Modi took to X and wrote, "Our shooters continue to make us proud! Congratulations to Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh for winning the Bronze medal in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team event at the Olympics. Both of them have shown great skills and teamwork. India is incredibly delighted."
