Things are seemingly not going to get easy for Prithvi Shaw anytime soon as new CCTV footage has surfaced after four months of the infamous controversy with social media influencer Sapna Gill. The footage reveals that it was the cricketer who initiated the fight with the opposite group. Notably, Sapna Gill was arrested in a case related to manhandling India cricketer Rishabh Pant earlier this year.
Later, Gill had accused Shaw and his friend Ashish Yadav of molesting her at a pub on February 15, this year. The influencer had lodged a complaint before a magistrate court in Andheri seeking registration of FIR under the IPC sections 354, 509, and 324. However, a police officer appeared before Mumbai’s Andheri Magistrate Court on Monday and said that the allegations made by Gill against Shaw and Yadav are baseless and unfounded.
R ecently, CCTV footage has surfaced on social media that shows the Indian batter initiating the feud after Sapna Gill’s friend Shobhit Thakur approached the Delhi Capitals opener for a selfie. As things got heated between Shaw and Thakur, the former's friend intervened in the matter and separated the two, however, the fight continued.

Gill’s lawyer Ali Kaashif Khan requested the court to allow him to present the video footage of the alleged brawl between Shaw and Gill’s friend. The video was recorded by Sapna Gill’s friend on his phone, and it shows that the Under-19 World Cup-winning cricketer stopped Shobhit Thakur from clicking a selfie while Sapna was sitting at her table. It started an argument between both parties, which eventually worsened, resulting in a major brawl.
Sapna had alleged that Shaw and his friend, who were under the influence of alcohol, touched her inappropriately. However, police examined the CCTV footage and said that Sapna wasn’t touched inappropriately by Shaw or his friend.
