A pup was spotted wearing Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard Austin Reaves’ jersey during the game against the New York Knicks on December 19. The clash saw the Knicks recording a 114-109 victory against LeBron James featuring the Los Angeles Lakers. Knicks’ Julius Randle had 27 points with 14 rebounds Immanuel Quickley scored 20 points while the Knicks gave a tough fight to their counterparts. The match marked their second triumph over the Lakers in the 2023 season.
While several stars fought well for their respective sides in the match, a pup on the courtside simply stole the show. The dog was seen wearing the Austin Reaves jersey during the match, which caught everyone’s attention. Jalen Brunson, who scored 11 of his 29 points in the fourth quarter said after the match, "We took a step forward tonight, and we're going to try to keep moving forward."
He added, “We're learning how to bounce back, but we've got to continue to stack wins. You can't be comfortable after just one. Keep stacking them, keep being resilient, and just stick together.”
LeBron registers triple-double, AD-Austin combine for 52 points
The match saw the oldest active player in the NBA, LeBron James contributing 25 points and recording a triple-double with 11 rebounds and 11 assists. Austin, on the other hand, had 20 points to the overall tally. Anthony Davis scored 32 points and 14 rebounds in the match. The Knicks gained control with a 15-2 run and established a 90-80 lead by the end of the third quarter. The Lakers tried to get the control in their hands, but the Knicks managed their advantage.
James managed to get his side within 108-103 with 1:04 remaining; however, Randle’s layup and four free throws in the final 25 seconds got them the victory.
