After a close defeat in their previous match, Barbados Royals are back to winning ways in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024, getting the better of Guyana Amazon Warriors by 32 runs at Kensington Oval on Sunday, September 15. The hero of the match was opening batter Quinton de Kock, who smashed his maiden CPL hundred to guide Barbados Royals to a comprehensive win, which allowed them to reach the top of the points table of the CPL 2024 with five wins and one loss.
Batting first, Barbados Royals got a flying start as Kadeem Alleyne got out in the third over after a quickfire 22(9) runs with two fours and two sixes. After that, Quinton de Kock took charge of the innings and went on to score 115 runs off just 68 balls, hitting eight fours and nine sixes. He got out in the fourth ball of the 20th over, ensuring a big score for Barbados Royals. Apart from that Jason Holder also gave finishing touches with 28*(10) runs, as Barbados Royals posted a total of 205/6 in their alloted 20 overs.

Barbados Royals are looking strong in the ongoing CPL 2024 with five wins and just one loss in the season so far. They started the season with four straight wins. However, their winning streak ended after Trinbago Knight Riders defeated them by two wickets in a last-over thriller on Saturday. Now, Barbados Royals are back to their winning ways in the CPL 2024 after defeating Guyana Amazon Warriors by 32 runs.
After posting a big total of 205/6 on board, Barbados Royals restricted Guyana Amazon Warriors for just 173/5 in their 20 overs. The Warriors didn’t have a good start while chasing a big target as they lost both their openers at the score 34 in 5.4 overs. Shai Hope was the top scorer with a steady knock of 40(34) runs. After that, Shimron Hetmyer (28 off 10) and Moeen Ali (33 off 19) also tried their best to get closer to the target.
In the end, Keemo Paul remained unbeaten on 30*(18) runs but couldn’t take Guyana Amazon Warriors past the winning line as Barbados Royals registered another victory to get at the top of the points table in CPL 2024.
