The South African international Quinton de Kock smashed a massive six out of the Bellerive Oval in Hobart during the Big Bash League (BBL) match on Saturday, December 23. But his team Melbourne Renegades lost to Hobart Hurricanes by six wickets after setting up a formidable target of 184 for the hosts to chase down.

It was the fourth over of the Melbourne Renegades innings when Chris Jordan, bowling from round the wicket, pitched one up in the wheelhouse of Quinton de Kock. The left-handed opening batter struck the ball sweetly to put it over the grassy banks at the Bellerive Oval, straight onto the ground nearby.

A few young fans looked to the other side of the stadium in Hobart to check if the ball was in their sight before one of them jumped over the fence to grab hold of it. The commentators Mark Howard and Wasim Akram sounded a bit worried on the live broadcast when one fan was valiantly trying to jump over the fence before the video was cut on the official X account of the BBL.
Quinton de Kock, Joe Wells, Aaron Finch, and Jonathan Wells scored quick-fire 30s and 40s to help Melbourne Renegades reach a very good total of 183/5 in their allotted 20 overs. In their run chase, Hobart Hurricanes lost the opener Caleb Jewel for no score in the first over, but then, Matthew Wade and Macalister Wright put together a 142-run stand for the second wicket, scoring their fifties in the process, to put the hosts well on their way to an impressive win.
