The IPL 2024 clash between the Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals saw a heated moment among RR players R Ashwin and Yashasvi Jaiswal over a missed run-out chanc e. Batting first, the Royals came back to host a competitive 185-run total after a slow start. 22-year-old Indian star Riyan Parag smashed 85 in 46 balls with seven fours and six sixes.

Then in the second innings, the Capitals had a brilliant start with David Warner and Mitchell Marsh taking on Trent Boult and Nandre Burger. But as Marsh departed and DC lost Ricky Bhui, Rishabh Pant and Warner stitched a crucial partnership.

But at the 8.1 over mark, there was total confusion between Pant and Warner. Pant pushed the ball towards the covers when Warner was halfway down. But Jaiswal sent out a beaming bounce throw to Ashwin who can't collect, allowing Warner to get back. The Indian off-spinner was visibly angry at his younger teammate.

I was confident that I could get a lot of runs: Riyan Parag

Coming back to Riyan Parag, the Odisha batter spoke about captain Sanju Samson's advice as struggled in the initial stage of the game. Parag said, " Sanju bhai told me to take it deep, I was confident that I could get a lot of runs. It wasn't easy for a new batter to come and score, you needed someone to stay until the end. It's been tough, I'm a bit emotional now, I have worked hard and seeing the fruits of it now."
