India’s substitute fielder Radha Yadav pulled off a full-stretch dive to complete a stunning catch in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. On Wednesday, October 9, India Women clashed against Sri Lanka Women at the Dubai International Stadium. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side had begun their campaign on a defeating note against New Zealand. However, in their second game, they thrashed Pakistan and were set to extend their winning streak to 2-1 against Sri Lanka.

During the game, Radha Yadav grabbed a spectacular catch in the very first over of Sri Lanka’s chase. On the second ball of the first over, Vishmi Gunaratne tried to cut down the swing and attempted to hit Renuka Singh over the mid-off fielder. However, Yadav, standing at the backward point, ran back to her right diagonally and made a full-stretch dive to complete the jaw-dropping catch. The Sri Lankan opener was forced to return after a two-ball duck.

Upar wale di meher hai, bas chal raha hai: Harmanpreet Kaur on her neck injury

Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur gave an update on her injury scare she faced in the previous match. Kaur came up with a 52-run knock as India defeated Sri Lanka by a margin of 82 runs and recorded their biggest-ever win in the history of the tournament. Speaking in the post-match presentation, Kaur said, “Sab theek hai. Upar wale di meher hai, bas chal raha hai (all is good by God's grace, going good)”

Talking about the match, Kaur said, “When you play good cricket you always feel well. Today all the boxes were ticked, we have been talking about our fielding and we took all our catches and that's something very important to us. We did discuss before the game, if we are batting first what are the targets you need to set. These pitches are really tricky, we can't go and execute. Today lot of things went according to plan. We were thinking at least 160 and we set 170-plus.”
