Indian batter Rajat Patidar was greeted with RCB, RCB chants as he came out to bat on his Test debut against England.  Playing in Vizag, as India won the toss and elected to bat first, Madhya Pradesh's Rajat Patidar became the 310th Indian Test player in the country's cricketing history and he got his international cap from fast bowling great Zaheer Khan.

After consistent performances in the domestic circuit, Rajat Patidar showcased his top-class batting ability as he made a gritty 32 in 72 balls with three boundaries before getting out in an unlucky fashion. But as the Madhya Pradesh batter came out to bat, he received a warm reception from his franchise team's fans.

Rajat Patidar welcomed with  "RCB, RCB" chants

Playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League,  Rajat Patidar was greeted with "RCB, RCB" chants by supporters in Vizag. The 30-year-old was picked by the Bangalore-based franchise in 2021 before being released next year after a mediocre season.  But RCB recalled Patidar in 2022 as an injury replacement and the MP star had a breakout season, including a 55-ball 104 in the Eliminator against the Lucknow Super Giants.

Rajat Patidar gets out in unlucky fashion against  Rehan Ahmed

Rajat Patidar fell prey to an unlucky dismissal as his debut innings was cut short against England. After battling the likes of James Anderson, Tom Hartley and Shoaib Bashir,  Patidar was bizarrely bowled by Rehan Ahmed. Check out the video here:

The first delivery of the 72nd over by Ahmed bounced higher than  Patidar's  expectation and, took a deflection off the shoulder of his bat and then rolled in front of the stumps. The 30-year-old saw the ball going towards his stumps and attempted to stop it with his foot but failed as it clipped the bails off.
