Ahead of the ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023, Team India are scheduled to host England on September 30 at the  Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati for a warm-up clash followed by their second warm-up game against the Netherlands on October 3  at the  Greenfield Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. Ahead of the Guwahati clash, Indian all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin was spotted travelling with the Indian squad.

Ashwin, who last played a 50-over format match against South Africa in January 2022, was called up for the recently concluded India's three-match ODI series against Australia. The veteran all-rounder picked the crucial wicket of Marnus Labuschagne in the first ODI,  registering figures of 1-47 in 10 overs. During the high-scoring second ODI, the 37-year-old dismissed three Aussie batters David Warner, Marnus Labuschagne, and Josh Inglis, ending up with figures of 3-41 in 7 overs.

The Rajasthan Royals all-rounder helped India win their first two games against Australia and has seemingly received a call back to the Indian squad as he was spotted travelling with Team India in Guwahati.

Ravichandran Ashwin is expected to replace Axar Patel in the Indian squad for the ODI World Cup 2023 as the team will finalise the squad on Thursday, September 28.  India all-rounder Axar Patel, who was initially named in India's 15-member provisional squad, suffered an injury during India's final Super 4s clash against Bangladesh in the Asia Cup 2023.
