After skipper Rohit Sharma reached his half-century in the ongoing third Test against England in Rajkot, Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja also notched up his 21st half century in Test cricket at the Niranjan Shah Stadium. Earlier in the match, the Men in Blue opted to bat first.
Going into Lunch on Day 1 having scored 24 runs, Jadeja stood firm alongside Rohit Sharma to reach the 50-run mark. The all-rounder went for a single to complete his half-century in the 44th over of the ongoing third Test off Mark Wood. Soon after hitting his 50, he came out with his sword-swirl celebration.
His 50* was also lauded by the members of the team from the dugout as all of them stood up to applaud the steady knock of Jadeja.

Ravindra Jadeja makes BIG prediction for R Ashwin
The 35-year-old ahead of the third Test in Rajkot heaped praises of compatriot Ravichandran Ashwin. Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Jadeja predicted Ashwin’s 500th wicket. “R Ashwin will take his 500th wicket in Rajkot, nothing to worry about. I’m very happy for him. It is destiny that he will get it here in my hometown,” Jadeja said.
It is to be noted that Jadeja missed the second Test after he sustained a hamstring injury in the opening Test in Hyderabad.
