Royal Challengers Bangalore’s men’s squad gave a guard of honour to the women’s squad after their victorious campaign in the recently concluded Women’s Premier League’s second edition. On Tuesday, in an RCB unboxing event, the male team which consisted of captain Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli, and Glenn Maxwell made a wonderful gesture to honour the franchise’s first trophy in either IPL or WPL.
The heartful gesture follows the maiden title triumph by Royal Challengers Bangalore Women in the recently held WPL 2nd edition. The Smriti Mandhana-led side defeated Meg Lanning’s Delhi Capitals Women in the summit clash by eight wickets. RCB’s Ellyse Perry won the orange cup while the 21-year-old Indian all-rounder Shreyanka Patil was crowned with the purple cap.
With the IPL all set to begin on March 22, the franchise decided to pay guard of honour to the champion side in their unboxing event which was led by Smriti Mandhana and also included Richa Ghosh, Renuka Thakur, Disha Kasat, and others. The overseas cricketers also joined the celebrations through video-conferencing.
