The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) took on the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the summit clash of the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday, May 26. The two sides, who locked horns in the Qualifier 1 of the IPL 2024, saw the Kolkata-based side come out on top and seal a direct entry to the final. But for the SRH, it was a task as they beat Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Qualifier 2 to confirm the second berth in the title clash.
But on Sunday, as the two sides took the field, it was the Shreyas Iyer-led side who prevailed over the SunRisers Hyderabad. Firstly, after being invited to field first, the KKR bowlers did their part and bundled out the SRH to 113. They thereafter chased the total in just 10.3 overs to claim their third IPL title.
Soon after this emphatic win, the members of the team ran down the ground to celebrate this moment. The team members emotions were at an all-time high as they ended their title draught, ending their 10-year-long wait. In one of the moment going viral, youngster Rinku Singh, who had a decent IPL 2024 was seen bowing down in front of the two-time IPL winning captain Gautam Gambhir, who serves as the mentor of the side.

Dream come true to win: Rinku Singh
The KKR batter Rinku Singh was elated lifting the title with the Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday. Speaking at the post-match interview, Singh called this moment as a “dream come true moment”
“Outstanding feeling, my dream is fulfilled. I am very very happy. I am with this franchise for seven years and we have won the title - I will lift the trophy with my own hands - it’s god’s plan,” he said.
