Kolkata Knight Riders’ star batter Rinku Singh hit a mammoth six to Mitchell Starc, who was the franchise’s most expensive purchase in the IPL 2024 mini-auction. The two-time IPL champions spent a huge sum of ₹24.75 core for the Australian star and broke all the records. Starc became the most expensive player in the history of the tournament with the signing, followed by compatriot Pat Cummins. With the 17th edition of the tournament beginning on March 22, the Kolkata-based franchise is busy playing intra-squad games.

In one of the clashes between Team Gold and Team Purple, Indian youngster Rinku Singh smashed an unbelievable six and the video of the same has gone viral on social media. Starc delivered a lower full toss, which was easy for Singh to hit directly into the stands towards the leg side for a six.

It’s definitely a new challenge: Starc opens up on being part of KKR for IPL 2024

Australian pacer Mitchell Starc opened up on being a part of the IPL after almost a decade. He told cricket.com.au, “It's always a bit of a circus when it is the best T20 league in the world. It's definitely a new challenge. Yeah, it's going to be exciting. So, yeah I look forward to it.” He added, “I guess my memories are a few and far between of back in 2014 and 2015 with RCB but yeah, really excited to get stuck in. Obviously, a new group of players. A bunch of guys I certainly haven't met or been able to work with before.”

Notably, Starc last played in the IPL for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2014 and 2015 and was bought by KKR ahead of 2018. However, an injury ruled him out of that season.
