Manchester United's 19-year-old forward Alejandro Garnacho raised eyebrows with his spectacular overhead kick after getting a cross from Diogo Dalot on Sunday afternoon inside three minutes against Everton at Goodison Park. Many experts and former players reviewed the goal as Man United legend Rio Ferdinand ranked Garnacho's goal over Wayne Rooney's and also revealed a surprising detail involving Argentina captain Lionel Messi.
While talking on his Vibe with Five podcast, Ferdinand claimed that Garnacho's goal was better than his former teammate Wayne Rooney's goal. The 45-year-old football pundit also revealed that one of his sources told him that the record eight-time Ballon d'Or winner, Lionel Messi unfollowed Garnacho as the youngster never hides his admiration for the Portuguese legend while he's with the Argentina squad.
Ferdinand stated, "My lad said to me the other day Messi unfollowed him. He said Messi's unfollowed him. Because he comes out, don't care, 'I'm a Ronaldo man'. Who's the GOAT? Ronaldo. (Even) when he's in the Argentina squad."

When asked which strike was better, Ferdinand said, "Garnacho. One was off a shin pad, the other was off his boot. I'm sorry, Wazza." While Garnacho scored the goal from around 15 yards out, Rooney's goal was a little close to the post and was from a more central position.
He continued, "I was in my house in the front room with my family and we went ballistic. It was nuts. Even my little boy, his tooth had just fell out, he fell and his tooth just got knocked out, he was trying to do overhead kicks in the living room like probably millions of little kids around the world at the time.
"That goal is better than Rooney's. He was running away from the goal, a bit further away from the goal, at an angle. It was an unbelievable, breathtaking moment."
