Australia are currently locking horns with the Netherlands at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi in Match 24 of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. The Aussie opener, David Warner gave a quick start despite losing Mitchell Marsh inside the four overs of the innings, he stitched a crucial partnership with Steve Smith.

While during his ton, David Warner survived an early dismissal after the umpires watched for a clean catch by Roelof van der Merwe, Steve Smith fell prey of a similar catch in the very next over. On the third delivery of the 24th over, Aryan Dutt bowled a short, outside off which Smith sliced. But as the Aussie batter didn’t keep it down, van der Merwe took an unconventional reverse-cup catch.
However, the umpires as well as the two Aussies in the middle watched for a clean catch, the umpire finally raised his fingers, giving it out with Smith departed at the score of 71.
