Roger Federer, the 20-time Grand Slam singles champion, shared the stage with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin in Zurich on July 2, Sunday, to the surprise of fans in attendance. The 41-year-old tennis legend went on to take part in singing “Don’t Panic” with the band during the Music of the Spheres World Tour.
Coldplay, one of the biggest rock bands from Great Britain, kick-started their eighth concert tour from March 18, 2022 to support their ninth studio album called Music of the Spheres. It is expected to continue till February 4, 2024 with 133 shows happening all over the world. The rock band has already made a pledge to plant a tree for every ticket sold, as part of a reforestation agreement, during their concert tour.
A video of the Zurich concert was posted on Twitter, in which Chris Martin introduced Roger Federer as the original band member. The pianist and vocalist went on to say that “The band is back together.” Moments later, both megastars went on to sing Don’t Panic, from one of the Coldplay studio albums called “Parachutes.”
At one point during the concert, Martin asked the rest of the members of the band to go quiet to let Federer take the lead on the song in front of his adoring home fans. This made the 41-year-old smile beamingly, while questioning, “Is that okay?” In response, the frontman stated, “Perfect,” before the band joined in on singing the song once again.

Notably, Roger Federer retired from professional tennis in September 2022, after the Laver Cup in London. Since then, he has been quite active socially, appearing at many major sporting and non-sporting events across the world.
