Indian captai n Rohit Sharma and Rinku Singh smashed 36 runs against Afghanistan in the final over of the firs t innings in the 3rd T20I. After winning the toss, India elected to bat first but got off to a poor start. In-form opener Yashasvi Jaiswal was dismissed at four before Virat Kohli got out on his first golden duck in T20Is.

Soon all-rounder Shivam Dube and Sanju Samson also got out cheaply. With the Men in Blue struggling at 22-4, Rohit Sharma and Rinku Singh built a crucial partnership and carried India out of trouble. The duo started slow but increased the scoring rate as they took the total to 176 in 19 overs.
Facing Karim Janat in the 20th, Sharma slogged the first ball for a four before smashing a six down the ground which was called a no-ball. The Hitman continued his stellar form by tonking Janat for his second consecutive maximum. After the third ball went for a single, Rinku Singh finished the over with three back-to-back sixes and took the tally to 36 runs while India posted 212.

Coming back to Rohit Sharma, the Indian captain became the first player to score five centuries after reaching three figures against Afghanistan in the 3rd T20I. Entering this game, Sharma scored two ducks in the last two games but shut down his critics with a magical knock of 121 in 69 balls with 11 fours and eight sixes.
