Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and rising batting superstar Yashasvi Jaiswal were left in disbelief as Rishabh Pant and Sarfaraz Khan got involved in a batting mix-up. Khan and Pant were batting for India in the second innings against New Zealand in Bengaluru, when the two got involved in a horrible batting mix-up. The fourth day of the game saw Khan resume at 70 with Rishabh Pant on the other end. Khan went on to score his maiden century while Pant recorded a brilliant fifty.

The batters also built a 113-run stand, helping the side recover from a forgetful first innings. While the duo was in the momentum, their partnership could have come to an abrupt end. Pant and Khan engaged in a horrible batting mix-up, which would have sent one back to the pavilion. The incident took place in the 56th over, when Matt Henry bowled a length delivery around off. Khan guided the delivery towards deep backward point and ran quickly. While there was a call of two, Khan couldn’t complete it as he saw the throw coming.

Rishabh Pant and Sarfaraz Khan engage in batting mix-up; Rohit and Jaiswal’s reaction goes viral

As soon as Khan saw the throw coming in, he called Pant to not run. However, Pant kept looking at the fielder and didn’t hear it. He was halfway down the turf, when Khan was desperately jumping up to make him stop. The latter quickly got back to his crease safely, and the throw didn't turn out to be successful, giving India reprieve.

Sarfaraz Khan was seen livid with what just happened and gave Pant a stern look. This left Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal in disbelief before they started laughing. India was batting at 344/3 in 71 overs, trailing Kiwi guests by just 12 runs when rain halted the first session of the day.
