The two-day warm-up match is underway at the Manuka Oval in Canberra after the opening day of the practice game was washed away. However, the match was then scheduled to be played in 50 overs per side game, on the morning of the second day, sudden rain further reduced the match to 46 overs per side.
For the unversed, India won the toss, and invited Australia’s Prime Minister’s XI to put the score first on the board. While the hosts posted 241-run target after being bundled out off 43.2 overs, Team India captain Rohit Sharma was seen bringing his funny side during the ongoing match.

Rohit Sharma’s funny side was caught on camera as he hit Sarfaraz Khan on the back after the latter dropped an easy catch in Canberra. The incident occurred in the 23rd over of PM XI’s innings when Harshit Rana bowled a short pitched delivery to Oliver Davies. The ball went past Davies as Sarfaraz fumbled to collect the ball.
As the Mumbai batter went to collect the ball from the ground, Rohit cheekily punched him on his back, video of which is making rounds on social media. Earlier in the match, Sarfaraz Khan replaced Rishabh Pant behind the wickets after Pant decided to take a brief break from the keeping duties during the practice game.

Speaking of the match, Prime Minister’s XI posted 240 runs, courtesy a 107-run knock off 97 deliveries from Sam Konstas, along with crucial 61 off 60 from Hanno Jacob and 40 off 52 from Jack Clayton. For India, Perth Test debutant Harshit Rana was the star with the ball as he finished with the figures of 4/44 in his six overs. Apart from him, Akash Deep got two wickets, whereas Md Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Washington Sundar and Ravindra Jadeja got a wicket each.
