Mumbai Indians (MI) veteran opener Rohit Sharma held a humorous chat with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) owner Sanjiv Goenka after the latter’s side bagged a 12-run win over the former’s team in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match, held at the Ekana Cricket Stadium on April 4. Rohit wasn’t a part of MI’s playing XI against LSG as the 37-year-old was hit on a knee during his team’s practice session held before the contest. In his absence, Will Jacks opened the innings with Ryan Rickelton but couldn’t deliver an impactful start to the team while chasing a mammoth total of 204 runs.
Following Lucknow’s win, a funny interaction between Rohit and Goenka went viral. Taking to their X handle, LSG posted a clip which shows their all-rounder Shardul Thakur shaking hands with Rohit. Amidst the meeting between both Team India players, Goenka also breaks into the scene which prompts Rohit to ask the LSG owner, "Sir why worry, when you have Lord?" It is to be seen that Shardul Thakur is also called Lord by internet users.
Rohit Sharma will look to be among the runs against RCB in IPL 2025
If Rohit gains complete fitness for MI’s home game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Wankhede Stadium, he will have to deliver an impactful knock for his side. In three IPL 2025 outings, thus far, Rohit has delivered scores such as 0, 8, and 13.
Mumbai are currently sitting in the eighth spot on the points table with just one win and three losses. Their only victory in the season came at home against defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on March 31. In the upcoming match, RCB will endeavour to win their first game against Mumbai at the Wankhede Stadium after 10 years and Hardik Pandya and his men will have to be at their best to stop Rajat Patidar and Co.
