After winning the toss and opting to bat first, the Keshav Maharaj-led side was handed the first jolt in Quinton de Kock early in the inning. However, the next wicket came in the very next over, courtesy, Romario Shepherd’s brilliant athleticism. Nandre Burger, who bowled the fourth over, bowled a short of a length delivery to opener Matthew Breetzke. While the Giants opener played an outrageous flick on one leg, Shepherd, who was positioned at short mid-wicket, timed his jump to perfection to complete a sensational catch to cut short Matthew’s inning.

Despite a brilliant fielding display from the West Indies cricketer, the Joburg Super Kings continued their losing streak in the tournament. With the pitch at the Kingsmead in Durban getting slower with the game progressing, the Super Kings failed to chase the total as they were restricted to 108/9 in the 20 overs.
Moreover, with a 37-run win over the Kings, the Keshav Maharaj-led Durban Super Giants continue to sit at the top with three wins from three games. They will next take on the Pretoria Capitals in Match 10 of the SA20 on January 18, Thursday.
